Pseudoparticles and confinement in the two-dependent Abelian Higgs model

Following Polyakov's proposal that certain classical trajectories (pseudoparticles) can restore broken symmetries and provide a mechanism for quark confinement, we study the Abelian Higgs model and calculate the pseudoparticle (vortex) contribution to functional integrals, taking account of the interaction between vortices. We obtain confinement in the sense of Wilson for fractionally charged quarks.
