Argon ion laser with a narrow emission line

Journal Article · · Sov. J. Quant. Electron. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
An argon ion laser is described, based on the commercial model LG-106M, having an emission line width of approx.3 kHz and an output power of approx.150 mW. In order to reduce the line width, which was governed by engineering-related fluctuations in the laser emission frequency, the laser was actively stabilized using an external highly stable Fabry--Perot interferometer.
