This fourth part of a series on naturally fractured reservoirs deals with predictions on primary oil recovery. Two methods to predict the primary oil recovery in naturally fractured reservoirs, which are above and below the bubble point are presented. Some important considerations also are presented with respect to optimum well spacing. The recovery method above the bubble point calculates the oil recovery from naturally fractured reservoirs, or the oil in place when the history of oil production and pressures is available. Meanwhile, it has been observed that in this type of reservoir there is a drastic increment in the gas-oil ratio once the bubble point has been reached. This is due to the fact that the critical gas saturation in the fractures is very close to zero. Then the method below the bubble point is applicable. The optimum well spacing is discussed briefly and a sample problem is included.
