Method of forming superconducting ceramics by electrodeposition

This patent describes an improvement in a method of forming deposits of superconducting ceramics compromising the steps of electrodepositing onto a substrate a mixture of metals, of the type and in proportions sufficient to be oxidized into a ceramic; and oxidizing the electrodeposited mixture on the substrate, under conditions sufficient to result in a superconducting ceramic deposit. The improvement wherein the electrodepositing step is conducted in a manner such that a patterned deposit results, with the oxidation step being conducted on the patterned deposit to result in a patterned superconducting deposit.
