The August 1986 through February 1988 radon intercomparisons at EML
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:7020296
In this report, we summarize the results of the eleventh through fourteenth (August 1986, February 1987, July 1987, February 1988) radon intercomparison exercises sponsored by the Environmental Measurements Laboratory. Thirty-six groups including US federal facilities, and national and state laboratories participated in these exercises. The results indicate that the majority of the participants' results were within +-25% of the nominal value at /sup 222/Rn concentrations ranging from 12 to 65 pCi L/sup -1/. Two common difficulties, calculation errors and scintillation cell leakage, are discussed in terms of good practice. 5 refs.
