This patent describes a fuel delivery system for an internal combustion engine. It comprises: a fuel supply with a fuel pump responsive to application of electrical power for supplying fuel under pressure, fuel delivery means on the engine, a fuel line having one end connected to an outlet of the pump and a second end connected to the fuel delivery means, a check valve in the fuel line for preventing reverse flow of fuel from the delivery means to the pump, means for applying electrical power to the pump, fuel bypass means coupled to the fuel line between the pump outlet and the check valve.
