In this paper, amorphous ribbons of the Fe[sub 73.5]Si[sub 13.5]B[sub 9]Cu[sub 1]Nb[sub 3] alloy were partially crystallized by isothermal annealing at 500 C and their microstructures were observed by TEM. The degree of crystallization of the [alpha]-Fe phase was determined using the DSC peak area in DSC scans of these partially crystallized ribbons. Thus, the microstructural evolution with [chi] was examined, and the characteristics of the crystallization process of [alpha]-Fe were investigated in the Fe[sub 73.5]Si[sub 13.5]B[sub 9]Cu[sub 1]Nb[sub 3] alloy.
