The direct beta-decay branch linking {sup 180}Hf{sup {ital m}} ({ital t}{sub 1/2}=5.5 h) to {sup 180}Ta{sup {ital m}} has been measured to be {ital f}{sub {beta}}=(0.29{plus minus}0.05{plus minus}0.06)%. The relevance of this decay for the nucleosynthesis of {sup 180}Ta{sup {ital m}} is discussed.
