Continuous gas-making process

The method of continuously making gas, wherein the gas-forming materials flash into chemical combination, is presented. The process consists of maintaining in one chamber a zone of combustion, in an adjacent chamber a zone of moving gas-making materials, with said zones communicating with each other through a gap. The heat from the combustion zone acts in an unmuffled relation through the gap upon said materials (without substantial mixing of gases of combustion) into the made gases.
