Phase transformations in the solid solutions Pb/sub 1-x/Sn/sub x/Se at high pressures

The purpose of this work is to study at room temperature the effect of the composition on the unit-cell parameter, the electrical conductivity, the Hall density of current carriers, and on the character of the pressure dependence of the electrical resistance of the solid solutions Pb/sub 1-x/Sn/sub x/Se (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.25). The composition dependence of the unit-cell parameters and the limiting pressures of the phase transformation were determined. It was established that the composition has virtually no effect on the width of the region of the phase transition (..delta..p) and on the magnitude of the change in the electrical resistance of the alloys studied.
