Fluorescent probes representing a wide range of aqueous solubility, including fluorescein isothiocyanate and four polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) compounds, were used to study the cmc behavior of sodium taurocholate (NaTC) in water. Fluorescence spectra, intensity, lifetimes, and anisotropy, as well as scattered light intensity, were measured as a function of NaTC concentration.
