  1. California Air Resources Board, Sacramento, CA (US)
Traditionally, the California Air Resources Board (ARB) has focused on the assessment and control of outdoor air pollution. In 1986, one new staff position and $200,000 were allocated in the budget for the investigation of indoor exposures to air pollutants and assessment of how such information should be utilized in ARB programs. Also, in 1986, the State Legislature approved Assembly Bill 3052, Tanner (now California Health and Safety Code Section 39660.5), which requires the ARB to assess indoor exposures as well as outdoor exposures when conducting risk assessments for the Board's Toxic Air Contaminants Program. These two actions are discussed in the paper.
