Systems Applications, Inc., an environmental consulting firm in San Rafael, California announced that it has developed a personal exposure model specifically designed for addressing health risks associated with air toxics. The model, called the Personal Air Quality Model (or PAQM), was developed as a method for assessing both outdoor and indoor contributions to total air toxics personal exposure. PAQM is particularly suitable for analyses that examine health risks from air toxics. Such analyses are being required by various California air pollution control districts, as well as other state and local air pollution control agencies across the United States.
