Process and apparatus for reducing NO sub x emissions from high-efficiency FCC regenerators

Patent ·
OSTI ID:6984530

This patent describes a fluidized catalytic cracking process wherein a nitrogen containing hydrocarbon feed contacts a source of hot regenerated catalyst in a catalytic cracking reactor means to produce catalytically cracked products and spent catalyst containing coke contaminated with nitrogen compounds. This patent describes a improvement in least periodically monitoring the NO{sub x} content of the flue gas, and adjusting the amount of regenerated catalyst recycle from the second fluidized bed to the coke combustor relative to the amount of spent stripped catalyst added to the coke combustor in response to the direct measurement of NO{sub x} content of the flue gas.
