Office of Conservation first quarterly report, January--March 1978. [Seattle programs]

A long-term conservation program was initiated by Seattle City Light Company to reduce load growth by 230 megawatts by 1990. A wide diversity of programs have been initiated to achieve this goal. During 1977, over 106,000 citizens served by Seattle City Light were contacted, resulting in a system load reduction of 72 megawatts. Major programs that have been initiated to date include commercial/industrial sector (5 programs); residential sector (10 programs); consumer education (2 programs); research, development, and demonstration (5 programs); in-house activities (4 programs); and grants (3 programs). Pertinent information on these activities are reported. (MCW)
