Staging transitions in graphite intercalation compounds

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6973047
Staging in layer intercalates refers to the formation of ordered periodic sequences of filled and empty gaps between adjacent host layers. Theory and experiment are found to be in good agreement for pressure induced staging transitions in potassium graphite intercalation compounds with compositions KC/sub 8/, KC/sub 24/, and KC/sub 36/.
