Growth and photoelectric properties of T1/sub 2/SnS/sub 3/ crystals

Journal Article · · Inorg. Mater. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:6954534
The authors study the crystal structure of the compound T1/sub 2/SnS/sub 3/, as well as the growth and the properties of single crystals of this compound. Using quantitative differential thermal analysis, microstructural analysis, and microhardness measurements, the authors studied the homogeneity region of this compound, and found that at 420 K it does not exceed 0.5 mole %. Crystals were grown by the Bridgman-Stockbarger method. The results obtained indicate that these new crystals are promising as model structures, especially when it is considered that a transition to layered materials is possible when S is replaced by Se.
