Influence of quark structure of the deuteron on the hd total cross section

The correction to the hadron-deuteron Glauber-approximation cross section which takes into account the deuteron quark structure is evaluated. It is shown that in the Glauber approach, which treats the deuteron as a two-nucleon system, sigma/sup tot//sub hd/ cannot be calculated with accuracy better than approx.0.05--0.10 mb.
