The decision document presents the selected remedial action for the soils and wastes at the Chemplex Site located in Clinton, Iowa. The second and final operable unit, which is the subject of this Record of Decision, addresses threats posed by contaminated soils and wastes at the Site. The contaminated soils and wastes act as a source of groundwater contamination and also act as a source for direct exposure to hazardous substances. The remedy addresses principal threat wastes, which are the contaminated materials in the Landfill Area of the Site, as well as the low-level threat wastes at the rest of the Site.
