The reactions of W(OR)/sub 6/ (I), WO(OR)/sub 4/ (II), and WO/sub 2/(OR)/sub 2/ with NaOR (R = Et) have been studied with the aid of conductometric titrations. The titration curves of II and III have end-points at an Na:W ratio equal to 1:1, and in the latter case, complexation takes place with time. The solubility in the NaOR-WO(OR)/sub 4/-ROH (I) and Bi(OR)/sub 3/-WO(OR)/sub 3/-ROH (II) systems at 25/sup 0/C has been studied. The formation of the crystalline complex NaWO(OR)/sub 5/ (IV), which is highly soluble in ethanol (approx. 40%) and has T/sub m/ = 70-80/sup 0/C, has been discovered in system I. In system II there are crystallization branches of the components and a homogeneous region between the 3:2 and 1:1 compositions. According to the IR-spectroscopic data, the complexation process of II is accompanied by cleavage of the W...O...W. bridges. A set of interplanar distances has been presented for complex IV. In contrast to the case of nonvolatile WO/sub 2/(OR)/sub 2/, following the thermolysis of NaWO/sub 2/(OR)/sub 3/, fragmentation products of W(OR)/sub 6/, which apparently form as a result of disproportionation of the complex, have been detected mass-spectrometrically in the gaseous phase.
