An investigation of the solubility in MOEt-''Fe(OEt)/sub 3/''-EtOH systems (M = Li, Na, K, Ba/2) at 20/sup 0/C has established that the crystallization branches of the components are arranged along the sections with Fe:M ratios equal to 1:1 and 1:3, between which there is homogeneous region for the existence of colored glasses which are amorphous to x-rays on the M(OEt)/sub n/-''Fe(OEt)/sub 3/ side (only for the 1:1 composition when M = Li). Their IR spectra differ from the spectra of the components. The formation of the complexes MFe(OEt)/sub 4/ (I) M = Li, Na, K, Ba/2) and M/sub 3/Fe(OEt)/sub 6/ (II) (M = Na, K, Ba/2) in solution has been established by conductometric titrations (with subsequent treatment of the results by statistical methods). The stability of the complexes of type I increases along the series K < Na < Li < Ba and exceeds the stability of the complexes of type II. The absence of solid complexes in the M(OMe)/sub n/-Fe(OMe)/sub 3/-MeOH systems (M = Li, Na, K, Ba/2) has been proved (in contradiction to the literature data). It has been concluded that there is a considerable decrease in the strength of the bimetallic alkoxide upon the transition from Al to Fe(III).
