This paper describes a complex apparatus that includes a flexible, constantly developed system for processing photographs from large bubble chambers and vertex detectors of hybrid spectrometers. The processing system is easily and naturally adapted to new chambers, physics experiments, and instruments in the process of its creation as well as during its subsequent operation. The authors discuss the general principles of structural organization of such systems based on mini- or microcomputers with bus organization. The described system has been used to process over three million stereo photographs obtained from bubble, spark, and streamer chambers and vertex detectors of hybrid spectrometers in more than 20 large-scale experiments.
