Components of forces of a reservoir acting on the foundation of high dams

This article investigates the fluctuating hydrostatic and hydraulic forces acting on the dams of high-head hydroelectric power plants with variations in the reservoir level and the effects of these forces on dam displacement, foundation deformation, and the forced seepage of water through the ground rock in order to establish maximum allowable engineering indices for dam construction.
