Seepage regime in the foundation of the Kanev hydroelectric station

The Kanev hydroelectric station is shown and is discussed in terms of its foundation and the seepage regime therein. The structure of the foundation is described and observations of the seepage regime in the foundation of the powerhouse were carried out by means of embedded piezometers. Observations were made of the hydrostatic levels and heads. Seepage discharges along the powerhouse are shown, as is the distribution of seepage force on the basis of the powerhouse. The watertight and drainage elements of the concrete structures according to the on-site observations are operating effectively. The hydrostatic levels are found to vary almost linearly with variations of the lower pool level.
