Computer simulation of dislocation glide-I. Comparison with statistical theories
Journal Article
·
· Acta Metall.; (United States)
The planar glide of a dislocation through randomly distributed obstacles is considered. Computer simulation studies of dislocation motion through large arrays (containing up to 10/sup 6/ obstacles) are compared with theoretical predictions. Critical resolved shear stress decreases as the size of the array increases.
