This decision document presents the selected remedial action for the American Creosote Works, Inc., in Winnfield, Louisiana. This Record of Decision (ROD) addresses the source of hazardous substances, which includes surface sludges, subsurface pooled creosote and pentachlorophenol liquids defined as nonaqueous phased liquids (NAPLs), and contaminated soil and debris. This is the final remedy and addresses remediation of the source of shallow ground water contamination and contaminated soils at the American Creosote Works, Inc. site. The principal threats posed by the site will be eliminated through treatment.
