We have made time-resolved synchrotron radiation measurements of resonant nuclear Bragg scattering from a mosaic crystal. It has been shown that the mosaic structure of the [sup 57]Fe[sub 2]O[sub 3] crystal substantially reduces speed-up effects compared to that for perfect crystals, in agreement with theoretical predictions. In addition, we have investigated the effects of a powdered [sup 57]Fe[sub 2]O[sub 3] filter on the time structure of a resonant beam and we discuss these results in relation to the development of ultrahigh resolution energy analyzers for time-domain scattering spectroscopy.
