Meteorology of acid deposition: a specialty conference summary

Journal Article · · J. Air Pollut. Control Assoc.; (United States)
The Northeast Atlantic International Section hosted a Specialty Conference in Hartford, Connecticut during October 16-19, 1983. Jointly sponsored by APCA's TT-3 meteorology and TT-8 Acid Precipitation Committees, the technical program consisted of 44 presentations in five technical sessions. The conference was preceded by a course on the use of long-range transport models in reducing acid deposition, presented by R.W. Shaw of Environment Canada. The conference, covering a range of topics important to the understanding of the acid deposition problem, attracted nearly 200 registrants. An overview is presented of an outline of the technical reports presented at the conference. In addition to the topics covered in the sessions of the conference, a synopsis of the keynote address presented by George Hidy, Environmental Research and Technology, Inc. is included.
