Ultrasound propagation in a magnetic fluid. I. Inclusion of particle aggregation: derivation and analysis of the dispersion equation

In the interest of establishing a scenario for the ultrasonic testing and quality control of magnetic liquids based on dispersions of magnetite the authors construct a mathematical model depicting the propagation of ultrasonic waves through the liquid under conditions of magnetization and magnetohydrodynamics imposed by an external magnetic field. The model analyzes the agglomerating properties of the magnetite particles and the effect of their agglomeration on ultrasonic wave propagation.
