The possibility of the electroreduction of nitrogen in the system Mo(III) -phosphatidylcholine-tributylphosphine was studied in methanol at atmospheric pressure of nitrogen. It was shown that at potentials of polarization of an amalgam electrode more cathodic than -2.05 V, together with the amalgam mechanism, an electrochemical mechanism of the reduction of nitrogen is also realized. A procedure was developed for the electrosynthesis of the catalytic complex of Mo(III).
