This report contains papers presented at the second symposium on Biotechnology. The goal of the meeting was to bring together the various disciplines and institutions involved in developing biotechnology for conversion of biomass to fuels and energy-intensive chemical feedstocks; for direct conversion to electrical power; for alternatives to energy-intensive resource recovery; and for environmental control technology associated with energy production. Consideration of potential biomass sources was also of interest. Separate abstracts are prepared for individual papers within the scope of the Energy Data Base. (DMC)
