This document contains papers presented at the symposium. The purpose of the symposium was to bring together the various disciplines and institutions involved in developing viable, new biotechnology for conversion of renewable resources to fuels and chemical feedstocks and for energy efficient environmental control technology. Techniques and the impact of genetic enhancement were discussed as well as innovative process developments and advanced concepts. Separate abstracts were prepared for each article for inclusion in the Energy Data Base. (DMC)
