Measurement of the valence-band discontinuities for molecular organic semiconductor/inorganic semiconductor heterojunctions

The source of this interest lies in the ability of heterojunctions to control optical fields and charge transport in numerous devices such as semiconductor lasers and photodetectors used in optoelectronic applications. Furthermore, the ability to grow epitaxial materials with atomic-scale precision has led to the realization of multiple quantum-well structures that exhibit a wealth of exciting new physical phenomena, some of which are already finding novel device applications.
