Japan's Hitachi Co., Ltd., has invented a domestic gas burner that offers simplified construction, compact size, and low-noise yet high-load combustion. Past burners featuring low noise were limited to low loads; high-load burners produced a high combustion noise. This burner, however, produces a flame of a mixture gas prepared or mixed so that the inner flame is laminar to reduce the noise level, while secondary air in turbulent form is supplied to an outer flame portion of a trailing stream of the inner flame, thus permitting high-load combustion. For a smaller burner size, the secondary-air can be supplied in laminar flow from the secondary-air ports, then made turbulent downstream.
