Suitable for domestic applications, this novel burner offers a high combustion load with low combustion noise by injecting a high-velocity secondary-air stream into the fuel or the fuel-air mixture (in which the fuel is enriched beyond a flammability limit). In the design, air ports issue secondary air at 16-50 ft (5-15 m)/s; auxiliary air ports lying upstream of the main ports send out a low-velocity stream. The stable flame forms on the low-velocity ports, resulting in low-noise, high-load combustion.
