Piezoelectricity and pyroelectricity in polyvinylidene fluoride

The piezoelectric, thermal expansion, and elastic coefficients of two different types of polyvinylidene fluoride film have been measured and used to calculate the secondary pyroelectric coefficient. It is found that secondary pyroelectricity can account for about half the pyroelectricity observed.
