Losses of and quality of benzene hydrocarbons in the separate purification of fractions and treatment of the BTX fraction

Separate purification of benzene and toluene fractions provides the following advantages over purification of the BTX fraction: the yield of pure products is increased by about 3%; the yield of the indene-coumarone fraction increases by about 1.5%; in the highest grade nitration benzene, the consumption of acid is decreased by 35% and there should be a consequent decrease in the quantity of acid tar. It is possible to significantly improve the quality of the benzene to synthesis benzene, bypassing the secondary purification stage.
