Superconducting Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O thick films on yttria-stablized zirconia (YSZ) substrates have been obtained by processing the screen-printed Ba-Ca-Cu-O films in Tl{sub 2}O{sub 3} vapor. The properties of the films are found to be dependent sensitively on the Tl{sub 2}O{sub 3} vapor processing conditions. The best film with a zero resistance {ital T}{sub {ital c}} at 115 K was heated in Tl{sub 2}O{sub 3} vapor at 890 {degree}C for 4 min followed by cooling to 300 {degree}C at a rate of 2--3 {degree}C/min. X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive x-ray studies indicated that the films are polyphase, but the high {ital T}{sub {ital c}} phase Tl{sub 2}Ba{sub 2}Ca{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub {ital x}} is predominant.
