Vapor explosion in a mixture of two liquids

Of the various causes of vapor explosion, the question of what fraction of thermal energy is transformed to mechanical energy in the last stage of hot liquid breakup is studied. Having defined this fraction with the assumption that the thermal interaction in this phase passes through the phase of thermal expansion of the coolant, and then the phase of film boiling, the authors determine the value of the acoustical pulse produced upon the development of film boiling on particles. The technique presented can be used to calculate the maximum acoustical pulse produced by vapor explosion.
