The Committee recommends, with one amendment, the proposals in S. 768 to amend the Clean Air Act. The report includes a section-by-section summary of the proposed changes to Titles I, II, and III and their intent, as well as a summary of nine days of hearings, estimated costs of implementing the amendments, and a copy of the existing law with the proposed changes in italics. Although the major issue was acid deposition, the amendments also address grants to Indian tribes, ozone protection, vehicles emissions, wood smoke, and other concerns. The report also includes the additional and minority views of six Senators.
