Four House resolutions dealing with gasoline rationing were the subject of hearings held on January 31 and June 23 and 27, 1980 to review the progress made under the Emergency Energy Conservation Act. The review focused on cost and timetable issues, the chairman noting that authority may expire before implementation is accomplished. Fourteen witnesses representing tourist interest, consumers, regulators, economists, and other disciplines discussed ways to reduce the implementation time and the conditions under which the program can work best. The text of joint resolutions H.J. Res. 571, 574, 575, and 577 are followed by the statements of witnesses and additional material submitted for the record. (DCK)
