Production of. lambda. hyperons and K/sup 0//sub S/ mesons in cumulative pC interactions at 10 GeV/c

A 2-m propane chamber was used to investigate the production of ..lambda.. hyperons and K/sup 0//sub S/ mesons in cumulative pC interactions at 10 GeV/c. Data were obtained on the characteristics of strange particles in these events and on the cumulative interactions themselves when they were accompanied by ..lambda.. and K/sup 0//sub S/ particles. The experiments were carried out at the High Energy Laboratory of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
