Part I of the Soviet economic studies contains 25 papers grouped under five headings: Policy Perspectives, Plan and Performance, Military Allocations and Burden, Energy Supplies and Trade, and Science and Technology. The volume opens with a summary of highlights from the papers, and each section begins with an overview. Separate abstracts were prepared for six papers from the Energy Supplies and Trade and the Science and Technology and Trade sections for the Energy Data Base (EDB) and Energy Abstracts for Policy Analysis (EAPA).
