Economic analysis of model KH 12/18 shredder systems

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6780386
The basic cost considerations deemed necessary in generating the economics of solid waste/shredder resource recovery facilities are reviewed. Systems with one through four Allis-Chalmers Model KH 12/18 shredders, each with a nominal rating of 20 tons per hour at a 1/sup 1///sub 2/ in. particle size, are discussed. This information can be used with local labor rates, climatic conditions, construction costs, utility rates, interest rates, etc., to obtain a reasonable ''local condition'' cost estimate. The analysis is in no way intended to formulate an exact cost analysis, but rather ballpark numbers to be more definitively scrutinized as a project evolves. Certain costs pertaining to and extracted from existing facilities have been used to obtain the most reasonable estimates. It is intended to be used by Allis-Chalmers personnel and its clients to aid them in the formulation of their solid waste studies and systems analysis.
