When the demand for C{sub 3} olefin, a specific C{sub 4} olefin or group of these, exceeds the amount available as byproduct from existing processes, a more selective process is preferred. The Oleflex catalytic dehydrogenation process represents an economical method to produce propylene and butenes in high selectivities from the corresponding paraffin. The process can be operated as a stand-alone unit or integrated in a new or existing olefin complex. This article outlines several different processing schemes that incorporate the Oleflex process.
