Standard specification for aviation gasolines

Specification is set forth for the use of purchasing agencies in formulating specifications for the purchase of aviation gasoline under contract, and the specification defines specific types of aviation gasolines for civil use and does not include all gasolines satisfactory for reciprocating aviation engines. Aviation gasoline to which this specification applies at the time and place of delivery is defined as consisting of a blend of refined hydrocarbons derived from crude petroleum, natural gasoline, or blends thereof with synthetic hydrocarbons or aromatic hydrocarbons, or both. Specified requirements for the various grades of aviation gasoline are tabulated, and ASTM methods are cited for the determination of these various specifications. (BLM)
