An action functional is proposed, describing the motion of a particle in N = 2 harmonic superspace, and containing the one-dimensional CP/sup 1/ sigma-model with a Wess-Zumino term. Hamiltonian mechanics is formulated both in the central and analytic bases. The theory is quantized using the Gupta-Bleuler method. The resultant state vectors are given in terms of U(1)-charged analytic superfields and describe N = 2 matter hypermultiplets. In the massless case the spectrum of quantum states contains in addition to the matter hypermultiplets the field strength of an abelian gauge N = 2 supermultiplet.
