Conference ·
OSTI ID:6725448

The present conference on superplasticity in both metals and alloys and in advanced ceramics discusses cavitation and cracking in superplastic deformation, the improvement of 7475 Al-alloy superplasticity through cryogenic processing, the superplastic behavior of 7475 Al alloy produced by spray deposition, superplasticity in Ti-base alloys, the hydrogenation-induced superplasticity of cast Ti-6Al-4V, the enhancement of superplasticity by cold-rolling in a duplex stainless steel, and superplasticity in shape-memory Cu-Zn-Al alloys. Also discussed are superplasticity in fiber-reinforced metal, the effect of grain growth on plastic instability during superplastic deformation, the diffusional creep of elastic solids, superplastic deformation of zirconia/alumina duplex composites, solid-state bonding of superplastic ceramics, and a superplastic fine-grained yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia.
