'Scare Report' by GAO (U. S. General Accounting Office) won't slow LNG ports

More LNG terminals will be built in the U.S. in spite of a three-volume GAO report questioning the safety of handling, transporting, and storing liquefied energy gases and providing recommendations including the placing of tanks underground with the highest fluid level below ground when not in remote locations, the reevaluation of existing facilities in congested areas, consolidating into one agency responsibility for liquefied energy gases, and a new federal hazardous materials compensation fund to supplement private liability insurance.
