Measurement of the effective resonance integral and Doppler coefficient of thorium oxide rods (LWBR Development Program)

The effective resonance capture integral of ThO/sub 2/ was measured, at temperatures of 300 and 1200/sup 0/K, for rods ranging in diameter from 0.4 to 3.0 cm. Calculated resonance integrals obtained using current cross sections and calculational methods are found to be in good agreement with the experimenal results. (NSA 21: 15469)
